I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside Me.....'
Isaiah 45:5
Brevity is the soul of wit. That is a phrase I had just learnt after being co-opted back to help prepare my son for his English exams yesterday.
It is a one off job, for he and I (to the chagrin of the wife) resumed our usual practice of studying in batches of 10 stupor inducing minutes before we succumbed to the comforts of his bed for the next 5 minutes.
Confidence tricksters are criminals who tempt you with deals that are too good to be true. Yet why do the rational human habitually succumb to such wiles.
The field of psychology might be a good subject matter to dwelve into for those interested in unravelling this lemming-liked behaviour of many of us, but a look at the stockmarkets might provide a quick lesson on the self deceitfulness in us all.
'Woe unto him that strive with his Maker.......
....Shall the clay say to Him that fashion it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?'
Isaiah 45:9
Till the day our Lord returns, many imperfect men will either try to replace, replicate or plain refute His very presence.
Man plans, God directs and the foolish man will continue to learn to his or her dismay, that truly, there are many idols but only One Sovereign God.
God Blesses
