The devil in us!!

‘Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you’
James 4:7

1 The devil is in the details and often than not, we tend to caricature the evil one as a grosteque, red bodied monster with a funny tail.

In reality, Satan was created beautiful to be seated near God’s throne to lead worship to Him. Satan corrupted his created being through pride and deceit.

2 What we see, we fear not. What we do not see should be what we should fear.
Often, being in this world, which is ruled by the Prince of the Air(ie Satan), we often become part of this world without realizing it.

We tell half truths as being prudent or kind, justify lust for appreciation of beauty, attribute greed and pride to glorifying God’s gifting, take our will and clothed it as God’s and many more sins.

3 The self is a delusion. No wonder we are always searching but never at peace.

4 All things are from, through and to God. This is the only way.
As Christians, by grace we are saved, by works we glorify God.
God has given us very clear instructions
- seek Him always in prayers, in reading His words and in worship

‘Draw near to God and He will draw near to you’
James 4:8

‘If you seek Him, He will be found by you’
1 Corinthians 28-5

- not our will but His will. We must respond in faith, trust and obey

‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that’
James 4:15

- live by the fruits of the Spirit not by our efforts but by leaning on God
ie humility, perseverance, love, kindness, …





5. As Christians,

‘If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold all things are become new’
2 Corinthians 5:17

6. Live for the day, do not worry about tomorrow
Man are sinful by nature, only by drawing on God’s grace will we not sin

- For those Christians who think that they are right with God, do reflect upon this verse:

‘Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die; for I have not found thy works perfect before God’
3 Revelations 2

- For those who have place God away from their focus,

‘We implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God’
2 Corinthians 5:19

‘Remember therefore how thou has received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee’
3 Revelations 3
