With the financial markets roiled by a little turmoil, hopefully some semblance of sanity has resurfaced amongst the euphoric, the hopefully gullible, the downright greedy and those who till now, thought their market savvy entitled them to a haloed place amongst the demigods in Mt Olympus.
In such times, it is understandable that most will find it hard to be thankful when the sweet saccharin coated poison pills that they took so willingly, without the bat of an eyelid, is now causing their hearts to go more than a flutter and their finances asunder.
What is wrong with humanity??
We are a race cursed (thanks to Adam and Satan) with a finite life, saddled with infinite sinful desires and by pure bravado or plain foolishness, never cognizance of our imperfections.
Karl Marx, Aristotle, Einstein, Churchill and many more were giants of their times, but none were flawless, and while history remembers them in its fading pages, their earthly greatness did not ensure them immortality and truly, with or without anecdotal evidence, no living human being can say with certainty, where these great men now are, in their afterlife.
‘Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? Or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?’

With the latest hype about the purported discovery of the tombs of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene, the saga of disproving the validity of the Word of God continues.
Should not we believers be flustered or even literally take up arms to defend our faith??
For indeed if these claims were true, then the very basis of our salvation no longer exists, for Christ then never died on the cross!!
Imagine a world without God and His loving grace, but instead one that is wholly dependent upon the whimsical and sinful men, indeed it will be a dark world.
‘Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge. Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee and answer thou Me’

Thankfully, it is God whom we look to and not men
‘Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding…..’

Much as I would like to take up the cudgels to defend my faith and to prove that such officio sounding pronouncements really rests on brittle grounds, with many holes to be poked at, it is better to remind those who fear, know and loved God about the very basis for their certain faith and trust.
God is a living God.
A God whom we have an on-going spiritual relationship with.
All of us who believed and seek Him every day of our lives have always experienced His grace and love, be it at the troughs or at the peaks of our lives and definitely in the space in between.
Is there still anything for one to prove to the not just unbelieving, but worse, men hell-bend on being hell-bound??
‘Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity’
Matthew 23:28
God is love.
Much as we feel justified, it is not for us who believe to judge our detractors.
To those who disbelieve or who are determined to not just rock, but bring down the very foundations of the Christian faith, why not go to the very heart and soul of our faith; the Lord our God.
Like the Pharisees of old, it is nice for many detractors to hear the sweet logic of their own voices, to hold in awe an admiring audience with their deep intelligence and profound discoveries, but reality is, it all rests on the very imperfect human and his flawed and finite understanding.
God is real. He is a faithful God. All of us who believe and desire to follow Him every moment of our lives will attest to that. Yet, superfluous words from even a grateful heart can never convey nor capture our very experience with Him.
You will have to experience that personal relationship with Jesus Christ and God our Father.
The proof is in the eating of the pudding. We men, spent endless time and resources trying to configure and reconfigure the ideal pudding, but till you have not just tasted but digested morsel by morsel, the love of God, can you really say with conviction, your conclusions.
‘…that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith…’
Ephesians 3:16
For those who truly believe, God will sanctify you with His Spirit, you will know He is God.
‘And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high an deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.’
Ephesians 3:17-19
Fibs, or figment of imagination, let men answer for their follies with our Maker.
We are better off working on the salvation that the Lord our God has given to all who repent, believe and obey.
‘Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children of Abraham’
