False Prophets


‘Beloved, believe not every spirit………because many false prophets are gone out into the world’

How frothy are you??

‘That we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro and carried about within every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive’
Ephesians 4:14

‘Let no one deceive you with empty words ……..’
Ephesians 5:6


Frosty I might be, but fallible to falsehoods, NO!!

‘For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against……….., the darkness of the world, against spiritual wickedness in high places’
Ephesians 6:12


Think again, what are you, a mere mortal pitted against fallen angels

God understands our vulnerability to Satan’s deceit, if we believe in Him and accept the salvation granted to all through the sacrifice of His only Son, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit resides in us to guide and strengthen us.

‘I am with you always, even until the end of the world’

Sadly, many choose otherwise

‘But my people would not hearken to My voice …….

Lies, yet more lies.
Here are just a small sampling of the potent mix of our self delusion and Satan’s derision

1. God has forsaken you!!

‘Thou has heard their reproach O Lord, ….I am their taunting song’
Lamentations 3:59-63

The truth is

‘I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee, he has said’
Hebrews 13:5
For

‘….God’s compassion fail not…..
Great is His faithfulness’
Lamentations 3:22-23

For

‘The Lord is good to those who wait for Him. To the soul who seeks Him’
Lamentations 3:25-26

And

‘It is good for a man to bear the yoke in his youth…..
Because God has laid it on him’
Lamentations 3:27-28

For

‘He doesn’t afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men’
Lamentations 3:33

We must

‘Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the Lord’
Lamentations 3:40







2. Weekdays are for working, weekends are for the Spiritual God
For our relationship with God is spiritual and eternal life is some distance away, the present world is the real world and making a living is now.

The Word of God says

‘But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin’
Hebrews 3:13

‘….whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him’
1 Thessalonians 5:10

If God is full time with you, can you be a part-timer with Him??


3. Idols, what idols!!

‘Take heed unto yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which He make with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of anything, which the Lord thy God hath forbidden thee’
Deuteronomy 4:23

Idols are not just what men physically create or natural things that we bow down to. Idols are whatever holds your heart and shift your focus away from God.
For eg, focus on doing God’s work can become idolatory if it causes us to forget about the Almighty God

‘For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God’
Deuteronomy 4:24

4. I am a good Christian, I know God, I do His work!!!

I read the Bible, I pray when I need something, I go to church on Sunday.

But truly are you an acquaintance or a friend??

‘For their heart was not right with Him, neither were they steadfast in His covenant’
Psalm 78:28

Or are you one who obey sparingly??

‘So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot. I will spew you out of My mouth’
Revelations 3:16

or wholeheartedly??

‘But to do good and to communicate forget not, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased’
Hebrew 13:16

‘….finding out what is acceptable to the Lord’
Ephesians 5:10

Staying on the straight and narrow path
- Let God lead and you follow

‘For it is God which work in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure’
Philippians 2:13

‘Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is’
Ephesians 5:17

- Follow in trust and obedience, do not doubt

‘Do all things without murmuring and disputings’
Philippians 2:14

‘You are of God…..because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world’

- Faith starts with, is and ends with love

‘but faith which worketh by love’
Galatians 5:6

‘…..by love serve one another’
……For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this, ‘Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself’
