A friend said that he had a vision of the word ‘fast’ for me.
Though he seems like a man of God, however, still has healthy sceptism.
In my daily reading, asked God for a clear msg.

Read Esther 4, was subconsciously pleased that no mention of fast.
About to close Bible when noticed the last 2 lines of chapter talked about Esther going on a 3 days fast before approaching the kind.

Decided to read furthur on topic of fasting in the Bible.

Quite interesting
- fasting as a form of personal sacrifice
- fasting as a discipline to allow us to spend time on the word of God
- fasting as a supplication in our requests to God for others

Decided to start a lunch fast every Wed.
Today was the first day.
Interestingly, had a mild case of food poisoning on Tuesday nite.
Makes it easier to fast as need to abstain from solid food due to diarrhoe..

Today, this was the verse that I read while preparing for the fast:

‘Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.
But I with a song of thanksgiving will sacrifice to you.
What I have vowed I will make good.
Salvation comes from the Lord

Jonah 2:8:9


’5 Aug 02 Monday (Doubting God)

Monday was the 2nd fast(before my Bangkok trip).
Started to get worried about health risks associated with fasting
I knew that I must trust and obey God as this is His will, yet I doubted.

During the fast at lunchtime, had images of food hovering over my thoughts.
Went on a binge during dinner and suffered cramps the whole nite.
Check the internet on topic of fasting and realized its health benefits.

On Fri, back from Bangkok, stayed with kids at Ritz for national day,
Ate too much.



On Sunday, fell sick, flu and hoarse voice, lasted right through to Thursday(aug 15)

On Wed(aug 14), A friend shared with us about her smg members aggressiveness.
Shared with her that likely the members lack of faith.

Today, Thur(aug 15), read daily bread, reread

‘You cant work for it
The grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ abounded to many
Romans 5:15

I finally realized that while the verse talk about healing, it also talks about the grace of God and my own sinful nature in doubting God

Finally realized that like like my friend’s smg members, when I knew the will of God, I did not take the 1st step of obedience.


Thank God and the Lord Jesus Christ for this enlightenment. Amen.
