‘Until the day breaks and the shadows flee, I will go to the mountain of myrhh and to the hill of incense
Song of Solomon 4:6
It must be a treat for those who are privileged to take the newly commissioned train journey from Beijing to Lhasa(Tibet).
Awe inspiring it must be to emerge from the darkness into the shimmering light that shines on the great Himalayan mountain range as one approach the rooftop(at average 16000 ft elevation) of the world.
Now that the long opium induced Middle Kingdom that China once called itself and after years of self imposed grey landscape of life, while the free capitalist world has moved on to Technicolor, is over, the great dragon awakens.
As a Chinese, one might feel great pride to literally glide on this wonderful journey from the heart (ie Beijing) of the centre(ie China) of the Universe to be nearer the gods in heaven(for the clouds are where the gods are and are higher can you go than Tiber??)
‘…..We look for light, but all is darkness; for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows’
Isaiah 59:8-10
Light is what attract the pesky insects to their doom in the often strategically placed insect traps that is just waiting to give them the shock of their lives literally, with the mega powered electric rods.
Light is what draws the fishes in the infathomable darkness of the seas to the entrapment of the nets placed below the kelongs(close cousins to the offshore oil rigs, but not in the same league)
Light is what draws the predators of the wild to a campfire in the African bush.
‘They grope in the dark without light......’
Job 12:25
To know God is to have the illuminating darkness of Satan’s deceitful veil removed from our hearts. The true light of God’s love and grace will shine upon us.
‘I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt……
…..And they will pass through the sea of distress….
“And I will strengthen them in the Lord, And in His name they will walk,”
declares the Lord.’
Zechariah 10:10-12
‘He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings deep shadows into the light’
Job 12:21-23
Rather than cling on to the delusionary riches of Satan’s world, which like the shadows of our being, is a reflection and will fade away with the passing of time. Only God can illuminate our lives and our souls.
‘Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows’
James 1:16-18
