God, make me a ‘superman’


‘But Jesus said to them, “you do not know what you ask.’
Mark 10:38

James and John, the disciples of Jesus Christ might be asking out of ignorance or selfish human understanding when they asked to be placed next to Jesus in Heaven.

What about us, the modern man??

Often, in our thoughts, in our prayers, in our good works, and definitely in our times of fear and despair, we hope to see fulfillment, at our timing and at our determination.

‘but hope that is seen is not hope, for why does one still hope for what he sees?’
Romans 8:24

It is promised and always honored by God that He has and will provide

‘…how much more shall your Father which is in Heaven give good things to those that ask Him.’
Mathew 7:11


If not earthly things, then what is this hope that God wants us to hold on to??

‘In My Father’s house are many mansions….
And if I(ie Jesus Christ) go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again myself and receive you to Myself;…’
John 14:2-4


God wants us to cling on to this hope

‘But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perserverence’
Roman 8:25


Is there a reason Jesus is not here yet??

‘For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son…’
Romans 8:29



Are we responding to God’s loving sculpting??

‘For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God’
Romans 8:19


For salvation is indeed available to all,

Jesus said :

‘You will indeed drink the cup that I drink…..’
Mark 10:39

but it is for you to respond

‘but to sit on My right hand and on My left, is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it is prepared’
Mark 10:39-40


So, how do we prepare??

God has sent the Holy Spirit to reside in us and help us, if we believe

‘Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weakness’
Romans 8:26


So, how do we live???

By following the Spirit and not the desires of our flesh

‘For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God’
Romans 8:14


How much more time do we have to transform??

‘How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who complain against Me?
Numbers 14:27



What if we choose to disobey??


‘They certainly shall not see the land of which I swore to their fathers, nor shall any of those who rejected Me see it’
Numbers 14:23


Be forewarned

‘therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back…..
If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping’
Mark 13:35-37
