O spare me, that I may recover strength, Before I go hence, and be no more'
Psalm 39:13
Truly, as I willed myself to put on paper the emotions the Lord has been stirring within me, the lingering fear of the fact that the month of March not only started exceptionally slowly in terms of business, there was also a couple of decent sized business setbacks, which in the fertile fearful imaginations of an insecure person like myself, could run wild and give more than sufficient room to the devil, who is always hovering in the background of our lives, an opportunity to seize upon that moment of weakness, when I might just looked away from God, and caused us to drown in our own fears.
'I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit'
Psalm 40:1-5
Fact of the matter is that life is not a matter of the devil or the deep blue morass of life's lusts, but if one would just looked beyond this encirclement of deceit, towards Christ and God.
Thankfully, Christianity is not a religion, for it is, it will not just be static rather than a dynamic relationship with a Living God, but will also be very dependent upon one's knowledge, understanding or worst, that of another imperfect man.
A Christian is not just one who believes in God and Jesus Christ, for even Satan believes in God, but rather one who truly desire, even with all our human imperfections, to follow the perfect Jesus Christ and translates that desire into action, by entering into a relationship of trust and obedience, always depending upon God as He leads us.
'...let us run with patience the race that is set before us......
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith'
Hebrews 12:2
When one stays faithful, even in the face of compelling reasons to do otherwise(for eg, an income starved month, despite years of plenty, can fearfully drive want to look away from doing the will of God inorder to satisfy the need to crank up the machinery to make some income to pay for bread in this world), God responses.
As I start to put into script, this leading of God, prayerfully in all humility, for man's wisdom pales in comparison to our Almighty God, the well-spring of sustenance started to open up.
'...by your good works which they shall behold, glorify God in the days of visitation..'
1 Peter 2:12
The words as you can see are plentiful. And in the midst of my commiserations, business indeed did pick up thanks to God's provision of a very blessed assistant, what was supposed to an arid week turned out to be a day of plenty.
God has indeed provided, for suffice is the day and so, I truly have enough bread to satisfy my needs, more than suffice to allow me to continue to be the pen that may the Lord use mightily, to encourage the discouraged.
But must we truly only trust God as a last resort, when all else fails. God is not the Bank of England, a lender of last resort.
God has bless all of us and will continue to bless all who trusts Him. It is for us to recognise His grace and take up boldly His ever present love.
How??
In the old days of yore, at least as depicted in the old Western movies, the Red Indians believed that the white men speak with forked tongue, and cannot be trusted.
With God, His commands are simple and the truth
'love God with all our hearts, souls and minds and acknowledge Him in all our ways
and
'love our neighbours as ourselves
In Singlish, never try never know
God Blesses
