#42 Look unto God(10may2005)

ust a couple of days back, a very dear friend and fellow believer dropped me an email. Like the good friends of Job, he mean't well when he asked me to focus, in my sharing, more on glorifying my life of victory in the Lord rather than on my woes and moments of weakness.

He says, "what you say is what you will be and the more you say it(good or bad), the more it will come to pass"

He says, "your email can be rather confusing for believers and non-believers because you know there are unbelieving believers."

God is indeed wonderful. He keeps us in focus. He will let us 'fall' inorder to not let sin creep in.

Having written my 100th message of sharing in the last two years, having received notes of encouragement from many of you on how the Word of God has spoken to you, pride has indeed started to, if not already crept into my being.

It is not what my friend said, but how God uses him to remind me of my imperfect self being, blessed by the perfect God.

It is God whom we look to, it is God who leads us, it is God who gives us revelation.

I thank God for 'steering me back on track. '

God is indeed graceful. Even as He corrects me, He gave me two well-time assurances as I prayed and reflected upon His will after reading my friend's email.

- a verse from Micah 7 which sums up where all our perspective should be, to God and not men

'therefore I will look unto the Lord'

Micah 7:7

'..And there is none upright among men'

Micah 7:2

- an email right after the first, on the same day, from another very dear friend(she has no idea of the first) who shared with me how the words of the sharing on visitations(#100) spoke to her

God has shown me, it is not what I write, how well or how badly I write, or who I write to(believers or non-believers or unbelieving believers), it is as the Lord prompts, I must respond.

So do bear with the agony of ploughing through my thoughts, for God will speak to you, even if I write gibberish.

Jesus says, to enter the Kingdom of God, you have to have the faith of an innocent child

Jesus understands that with men, being corrupted in this dark world, it is impossible to attain that child-like faith, by ourselves.

God wants us to take the first step

'Therefore I will look unto the Lord'

Micah 7:7

Jesus doesn't want us to look unto men(including ourselves)

'Trust ye not in a friend. Put ye not confidence in a guide'

Micah 7:5

'For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God'

Romans 3:23

Look to God, through Jesus.

In believing, God has sent the Holy Spirit to reside in us, to lead and guide us

'The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me...'

Isaiah 61:1

'Let not thine heart decline to her ways

Go not astray in her paths'

Proverbs 7:25

Some will disagree with today's sharing. Some will not even bother to read it.

But it matters not what I share, for I am but a mere mortal, warts and all.

What matters is,

- what is God saying to you today.

- Did you hear Him right, or more like, did you even bother to be still to hear Him

- If you heard Him, as you will surely do, if you only let Him speak to you, will you obey??

Question is, which category are you in

- the people who seek to come to God's presence at worship today or wherever God leads you today because you are thirsty for the rivers of life that Jesus Christ is

or

- the people who comes past our worship session today simply because the drinks vending machine is located where we worship

God Blesses
