....Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto Me, saith the Lord of hosts, And I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts.'
Zechariah 1:3
In Star Wars, this line obviously did not make much of an impact on Darth Vader. He chose to follow the forces of evil.
In a more innocent age, black was black and white was white and grey was never the colour of choice.
In Oz land(not Australia but rather in Wizard of Oz), where fresh-faced Judy Garland epitomises good, where the tin-can man talks, the lion and the strawman could co-mingle in harmony, and evil was as clear as daylight, and tornadoes were Acts of God, everyone knew their respective roles!!
'The wolf and the lamb shall feed together,
And the lion shall eat straw like the bullock...'
Isaiah 65:25
What about today??
Man increasingly believe that they are fast emulating if not eventually surpassing our Creator in their capabilities, be it in cloning Dolly and very soon, Samson's delectable Delilah and at the twinkle of an eye, Star Wars will be real and not reel.
Man is fast becoming a master of his own destiny or is he??
'O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face.........'
Daniel 9:8
For those who have come that far with me in my regular commiserations, would have noticed a dearth of material the last couple of weeks.
For one who is absolutely certain of God's omnipresence, I found myself in this strange position of wandering and wondering in this limitless vacumn, where the flotsams of life distracts and delude the mind, where one is focussed on God in rituals but not with the heart.
'There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him, but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man...'
Mark 7:15
'For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications...all these evil things come from within, and defile the man'
Mark 7:20-23
Our mind, like space, is limitless and still a mystery.
In relying on our own engines of understanding, we often find ourselves either running out of thrust or drifting into an oppressive force which has no boundaries yet, ever seemingly incongrously pressing down on us from all sides.
Only today, did I manage to push myself out of this incomprehensible 'blackhole' that seems to draw out whatever that remains of the joy and peace that is eluding me these past few days.
How??
'And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting and sackcloth, and ashes; and I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confessions, .....'
Daniel 9:3
'....lo, the star which they saw in the East, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.'
Mathew 2:9-10
Today, we give thanks to the Lord for Sean Keat's recovery from a challenging two weeks of ill-health.
As he has learned, medicine from men only buys us time, for the body to heal naturally.
God is love. God healeths. God gives us Jesus, the light that shines brightly and leads us through the darkness of this evil world.
Imagine that you are Luke Skywalker, fighting the overwhelming forces of evil in this seemingly limitless canvass of space.
Yet, like the canvass, the artist will define and determine what goes on it.
God made everything
'In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void.....'
...And God said , Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven......'
Genesis 1:1-14
God made you
'And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness...'
Genesis 1:26
Every breath that you take comes from the Lord.
Let every thing that has breath praise the Lord
'...for what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vaniseth away'
James 4:13-14
If my memories fail me not(from watching Star Wars 20 odd years back, though it should be made right when my son and I watch the movie tonite), Hans Solo managed to slipped out of the pincer-like clutches of his enemies when his ramshackle spacecraft made a quantum leap into another part of space, with a be-laboured thrust of his engines.
'Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you'
Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you'
James 4:7-8
By God's grace, the imperfect man in us who believe is made perfect when we exercise that free will of thrusting our focus back into the Lord and to want to rest in His loving arms.
I never am able to push myself out of the quagmire of my sins and repressions. It is God who pulls me out, when I let go of the desperate but futile grasping of the things of this world and place my hands into His
God Blesses
