#152 Mind Games introduction (20 aug 07)

'You are the God who performs miracles……'
Psalm 77:5

Now that the Fed Chairman Bernanke has added to his repertoire of laxatives( by cutting the Discount rate by 1/2 percent) for a panicky market, there must be at least that faint whisper of a global collective sigh of relief.
Many would willingly swtich allegiance to him as the next demi-god, if only he could do a wondrous miracle like reviving the once halycon days of bullish greed.

'And forget His works, and His wonders that He had showed them…'
Psalms 78:11

Just like other great men of the past, should the Fed Chairman achieved near Zeus-like status if he can single-handedly pre-empt the future near terminal zombie of a market, he should not begrudged the fickle world for soon forgetting his efforts, other than maybe a place at Madame Tassauds
For most in the world have long forgotten the great miracles of God and His very present love, for many are too busy minding their own desires.

Much as I would like to join the iconic heros and heroines of yesterday by making a prescient prediction on the directions of the financial markets, the wisdom from God and fear of God reminds me of my own fallibility and it is better to share with all this very meaningful and instructive verse that should bring calm or at least sobreity to many a repentant soul.

'The earth is the Lord's and all its fullness, and they that dwell therein..'
Psalm 24:1

Rather than greed and fear, it is better to live one's life on contentment and stewardship, for indeed the Lord has blessed us all. It is always better to be thankful for all situations for God is with us, and indeed it is important to be mindful that everything belongs to the Lord our God, and as good stewards, we should always rest upon Him

'Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His holy place?
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nro sworn deceitfully..'
Psalm 24:3-4
