#74a Mired in the semantics(10jan2006)

We are of God. He who knows God hear us, he who is not of God doesn’t hear us...’
1 John 4:8

Pluralistic as the world might be on the individual level, where self, increasingly takes precedence over community, in reality, we seem to be moving towards greater uniformity and conformity, at the lowest common denominator.

The internet has with its out-stretched tentacles, brought everyone who can or cares to be wired, onto a common platform.

Very soon, with the possibility of a computer chip implanted into every living being, at the wave of our hands, we could control our gadgets, though one never know, it could eventually be the tail wagging the dog, if some smart and deviant plutocrat has his or her way.

While still less than perfect, the Eurodollar and the European parliament in Strasbourg is in itself an achievement, given that both world wars started from long disunited Europe.

‘All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect....’
2 Timothy 3:16

It has been a humbling experience and yet, great blessing for me to see how God ever so often moves my pen in this ministry of sharing my walk with Him.
However, in my lesser moments, sinful attitudes do try to creep into my script, but truly, God provides and ensures that it is spirit led by Him, and not by men.

‘..that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged there on..’
Ezra 6:11

This verse from Ezra 6:11 referred to the God prompted command King Cyrus made regarding the rebuilding of the house of God by the dispersed Jews, and his command that the enemies of the Jews do not hinder their rebuilding work. Not exactly meant to be in the same context, but it strikes one as to the sanctity of God’s Word.

‘..always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth’
2 Timothy 3:7

Today, to hear about the good news of the gospel and God’s love for us is no longer a luxury limited to a few.

In the not too distant past, political ideology ensured that a significant portion of the world(mainly in the communists zones) would have great difficulty accessing what we(in the free world) take for granted, but never truly appreciated, the right to have a relationship with God.

Technology today, with the advent of internet and satellite have not just overcome the man-made barriers, but also the natural barriers of inaccessibility, in remote parts of the world.

‘And my people are bent to backsliding from Me, though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt Him’
Hosea 11:7

Many do believe in the existence of God.
A smaller but still significant percentage do understand that Christianity is not a religion, but an ongoing relationship with God.
But how many are willing to truly follow as God leads??

‘..you are restricted by your own affections’
2 Corinthians 6:12

‘..come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you’
2 Corinthians 6:17

God has pulled us out of the quagmires of our secular lives, for death’s bondage and the devil’s grip on us were broken at the cross.
We must acknowledge that victory and be desirous of wanting to let God be the Sovereign of our lives.

God Blesses
