#76 Mumbo, Jumbo (6feb2006)

The sun and the moon shall be darkened.
And the stars shall withdraw their shining
Joel 3:15

The Lord also shall roar out of Zion...'
Joel 3:16

'For behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven.
And all th proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble...'
Malachi 4:1

No theologian I am, so I will not even dare venture as to the sequence nor hazard the timing of the return of Christ, in his second coming.
Yet, God is clear as to the fiery destruction of the present sinful world and the beginnings of a new world.
The rainbow doesn't have a pot of gold(hidden by short, big-eared men in green) but is rather God's covenant to man that the world will no longer be destroyed by floods, as in Noah's time.

Is the present mess in Iraq(the old Babylon of ancient days) the prelude to a new Iraq governed by the UN and the beginnings of the devil's reign of terror?
Is the nuclear capabilities of so called 'rogue' nations like North Korea and Iran the percussor to its widespread use by terrorists??
With the insatiable thirst of the haves(ie USA and Europe) and the newbies(China and India), nuclear power may no longer be an option, but a necessity.

If history is a guide, then truly, the present dark world will only get darker, not just because human nature has degenerated furthur from the already low abyss of morality, but rather, the means of fulfilling their lusts and hatred, has become much more potent and destructive.

The term, 'Mumbo, Jumbo' probably originated from the incantations of some witch doctors in either dark Africa or practioners of the occult in the Caribbean.
I must confess I learned this term from watching reruns of the old Johnny Wiesmuller Tarzan movies.

One need not be a perpetual pessimist to fathom that the world is increasingly a dangerous place.
Yet, God knows and God provides us not just the way out, but He will journey with us.

'Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet.
Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord;
And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children,
And the hear tof the children to their fathers
Lest I come and smite the earth with a curse'
Malachi 4:5-6

Are you willing to let Him lead?? or would you rather remain the non-believer who justify your nonchalance upon this verse

'What confidence is this wherein thou trusteth?'
2 Kings 18:19

God Blesses
