'In the world you will have tribulation, but be of
good cheer, I have overcome the world'
John 16:33
God is not just a loving Father. His timing is
impeccable, He loves with wit.
Today's newspaper says that Singapore is experiencing
its worst hot and dry spell in 29 years.
My sweatshop or rather my study room faces the blazing
afternoon sun. Its never a mite pleasant at 2.40pm, to
sit down in this Singapore's version of the Xinjiang
fire mountains, to try to subject all to an overflow
of words.
Lord is graceful. As I begin to pen my thoughts, I
truly start with very little organized material,
except this great desire to share this thought that
God placed in my mind this morning.
So what is this thought??
The rain in Spain only falls on the plain(aka Audrey
Hepburne in My Fair Lady).
Droplets of rain as the Heavens opened up ever so
slightly, thanks be to God for His grace, temporarily
shifted my brooding and sparse thoughts to admiring
what was until recently, a common but now rarity of
experiences.
The rain has now stopped. So has my sparse thoughts.
Thankfully, the only light still shining is the light
of God's guidance. The sun is somewhere behind the
clouds, for now.
'As for man, his days are as grass. As a flower of
the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth
over it, and it is gone, and the place thereof shall
know it no more'
Psalm 103:15-16
In normal times, we rarely pay attention to the
wonders of God's creation, be it the sun or rain or
even the nice breeze.
In joyous and successful times, we pay attention to
ourselves and our fruits of this world, foolishly
paying obeisance to Satan, the Prince of this evil
world, blinded by our pride, deceit and lusts.
In all times, God has never forgotten us nor stop
loving us
'...He rememberth that we are dust'
Psalm 103:14
In difficult times, the blessed few will awake from
the neon-like darkness enveloping their lives and look
joyously to the source of all light, Jesus Christ our
Lord.
'A merry heart does good like a medicine; but a
broken spirit drieth the bones'
Proverbs 17:22
Our resoluteness in adversity.
In looking to God, in obeying as God wills.
To love God, to love our neighbours.
My soul is parched, my lips are cracked, my life is in
the midst of an overbearing desert, can I love??
'If ye abide in me, and My Words abide in you, ye
shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you'
John 15:7
The merciless sun is back. It is time to 'hang up my
pen' and bring to an end your agonies in trying to
follow my little naunces.
Do not put God aside, just because you have no time,
or cannot understand your circumstances, or think that
there is a place for God some other time but not now.
Instead, be like the animals of this wonderful dry and
parched basin in Botswana, Africa.
God's creations sustain in very dry weather
conditions, culminating in hugh bush fires. And where
all seems lost, the rains come and the dry, hard land
becomes a wonderful oasis of life and evergreen. Year
in year out, this phenomenon is witnessed.
'My Father which gave them me, is greater than all and
no man is able to pluck them out of Father's hand'
John 10:29
Do start to reside in God's presence, do abide in His
will.
To know God, we must spend time in His presence, in
His Words and in doing His works.
'....for they know His voice'
John 10:4
God Blesses
