'Do not fear what they fear, do not be frightened.....But in your heart set apart Christ as Lord'
1 Peter 3:13-15
Contrary to popular belief, Easter Sunday is not about chocolate eggs and bunnies, but about the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with His resurrection, the breaking of the bondage of sin, Satan's deathly grip on the human race.
'..that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life'
Romans 6:4
For those who are closer to the action, and even for those who only had a glimpse through the media, the past few weeks has taken on a decidedly increase tempo in terms of market volatility and now with the near destruction of shareholder values in the venerable blue blood US investment house, Bear Stearns(and soon, possibly others).
Investors indeed have very good reason to be behaving like bunnies on a hot-plate.
'...He will break the great house into bits. And the little houses into pieces'
Amos 6:11
'There shall be wailing in all the streets...'
Amos 5:16
'I will also trouble the heart of many people......'
Ezekiel 32:15
And even for the innocent masses far away from Wall Street or even Main Street, the searing rate of increase in general cost of living has decidedly make life less bearable and for many, it might soon not just be a question of less butter on your bread, but maybe no bread at all.
'...when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water'
1 Peter 3:20
In the last Asian crisis a decade back, very few were left unscathed by the financial tsunami then. Yet like some, for me, it was a new wonderful beginning, for God not just brought me through(even when I thought it was my own abilities then), but He brought me to my senses.
To repent and to know Him and now to desire to follow Him.
'And when he came to his senses...'
Luke 15:17
The world has now entered an unprecedented period of crisis of confidence, as the popular press are now telling us, even as the powers to be are still in partial self-denial and total delusion.
Is there a next tsunami waiting to embroil the present global economic system and with it, lead us all not just into a period of great instability and confrontation, bu to a change in the global political order that has been with us all since World War 2?
As it is, even without one, many are already semi-comatose from the less than gradual and very painful deterioration of their financial investments.
A little nudge would be enough to bring many over the precipice of their fears and past ill-discipline.
'Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.'
Romans 6:11
Man plans, God directs. God is Sovereign. Man schemes to achieve their sinful needs. On the contrary, our loving God desire is for us all to break free from eternal damnation, and receive the very salvation of our souls, for our own good.
May this short sharing truly be from the Lord and may He truly bring you into the light of repentance and out of the darkness of sins.
For most, we often do not realize the darkness of our ways till the neon lights of Satan's glare are turned off. This realization often happens in situations of great distress for us, be it health, relationships or like now, the perceived, present or even near future financial crisis.
'My flesh and my heart faileth, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever'
Psalms 73:26
'You hold me by my right hand. You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory'
Psalms 73:23-24
Do take time to be still and you will know God. But will you response willingly to His command ie
'Seek Me and love...'
Amos 5:4
Will you seek Him while He is still here to be seek?
'I am no prophet,....I was a sheepbreeder........
..And the Lord took me as I followed the flock, and the Lord said unto me, go, prophesy unto my people, Israel....'
Amos 7:14-15
