And he(King David) died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour......'
1 Chronicles 29:28
Today, I will be visiting a client whose spirit seems to have gone from him, when I spoke to him over the phone yesterday. He has been diagnosed with cancer.
Last week, another client indicated that he was going for a long overdue heart bypass.
At age 72, yet he never had time because he was busy with his China investments. He has time now, because his partners have literally booted him out, in the pursuit of greed and personal interests, never giving much thought to his substantial contributions to the success of the China ventures.
Yesterday, a 3rd client told me she was off to the 3rd funeral in the family the last one year. Three siblings in her family had died, all very wealthy Datuks to boot.
'For all flesh is as grass and all the glory of man as the flower of grass.
The grass withereth away and the flower thereof falleth away....'
1 Peter 1:24
The young think that they have a long life to go. They look longing at the day the world will be at their feet.
The old but none the wiser knows that time is short. But God forbid, it is not their time yet.
And the in-betweens, don't know, don't want to know, and doesn't have time to know what God has to say.
There are times that God will allow the follies of our sinful nature to literally 'shake or rather wake' us up a bit earlier than the natural cycle of age.
It will not be pleasant. In fact, often in our initial despair, when the world looks increasingly fleeting, but its grip on our hearts is still as resolute as ever, we will blame God for being the party pooper.
If He loves us, why can't He just make everyone happy and merry??
In our selfish and shortsighted manner, with the temporal world as our benchmark, we are asking for grace from God as defined from the perspective of the devil.
Should we not be like King Solomon, the son of King David when he was first anointed King in place of his father
'In that night did God appear unto Solomon and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee'
'And Solomon said unto God, ....."give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people, for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?'
2 Chronicles 1:7-10
God will provide, God has provided.
The starting point of our walk with God is not from the context of our position as defined by man, be it prestige, prosperity or power.
But from our awareness and acknowledgement of God's presence, from our responding to His love and His will.
'And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or edge for thyself, nor the life of your enemies, neither yet hast asked for long life but hast asked wsidom and knowledge for thyself, ............
I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, , such as none of the kings have had .....'
2 Chronicles 1
The ruses of the devil are plentiful and deceitful, the fuse of our mortal life is short and is shortening, do not continue to linger in your muses, for to continue to refuse God's loving hands will eventually consign us to the refuse of eternal damnation.
God Blesses
