Balm for a troubled heart
Ever since God lifted the darkness from me, life has never been the same.
One could see with clarity the beauty of God’s love in the midst of the ugliness of man’s evil.
Storms and tempest one will still go through. God calls it refinement, but in the midst of it, sometimes one feels the unbearable confinement and asked warily for relief if not at least discernment.
Peace is not what we work for, but by always seeking God first, come what may, at His own time, peace is what will come to reign in our lives.
Once again, do forgive me for taking the liberty of following through on this suppressed urge to share with you the verses that God has lovingly used to not just bring relief to my occasionally troubled soul but to uplift me in my walk with Him.
Before I impose my joy on you, I did pray about it that even if the intent is not perfect, that these are the Words of God and that they do mean something to you as it did for me.
1) His calling
‘I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness,
And I will hold Your hand,
I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people.
As a light to the Gentiles,
To open blind eyes……’
Isaiah 42:6-7
‘I heard the voice of the Lord, saying ;
‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?’
Then I said, Here I am; send me.
Isaiah 6:8
2) His expectations
God does not hold us responsible for success but for faithfulness
‘And He said, “Go, and tell this people:
‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand;
Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’
Isaiah 6:9-10
3) Our response as an individual
‘Stir up the gift of God which is in you.’
2 Timothy 1:6
4) Our response as a group
‘from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share,
causing growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.’
Ephesians 4:16
5) My belief in God’s reassurance
‘I thank my God every time I remember you.
In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 1: 3-6
