Turn ye again now every one from his evil way.............
....and go not after other gods.......
Yet ye have not hearkened unto Me, saith the Lord; that ye might provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.'
Jeremiah 25:1-7
This little hillside place in New Zealand is quite a mouthful for anyone to utter, probably even for its Maori originators.
Believe it or not, this is not the longest name of a place in the world. That honour goes to this place called 'Krungtep Mahanakhon' or present day Bangkok in Thailand. The full Thai name is 175 letters(as verified by the Guiness Books of World Records).
The Irish loves both their Guiness stouts and their limericks. These 5-liner humourous poems(ie limericks) are probably easier to compose when one is high on stout.
Being a near teetotaller, my mental dexterity with the English language is generally more limited but let me share my little spurt of less than dazzling inspiration on a couple of words that sort of struck me as to its significance.
Be lieve : By entering into God's presence, we truly live the life He has pre-ordinated for all of us
'......for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain. Remove hence to
yonder place; and it shall remove..'
Mathew 17:19-20
Re lieve : For many who have move away from the Lord, by Re Entering into His presence, we will find the peace in our hearts again.
'and if children .....then heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.'
Romans 8:17
De ceive : In Departing ever so often from the Lord's presence, we bring ourselves into great agonies.
'For the creature was made subject to vanity..............
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together together until now.'
Romans 8:20-22
God : read the letters from the back and we get 'Dependent On Grace
'Give ear to my prayer, O God. And hide not thyself from my supplication..'
Psalms 55:1
Devil : similary in reverse, it reads 'Living In Vain, Endlessly Depressed"
'....I am rich, have become wealthy and have need of nothing, and do not know that you are wretched, and miserable
and poor and blind and naked;'
Man is made or in modern day parlance 'programmed' to know and have a relationship with our Living God.
Most if not everyone down in their hearts recognize an unseen presence in their lives.
Question is
- man often tends to 'house' God within their perception and comfort zone.
'Turn ye not unto idols nor make to yourselves molten god. I am the Lord your God'
Leviticus 19:4
- even if one truly believes in the Almighty God, many finds it hard to follow His will, for it means giving up our self-will and its concomitant worldly desires and lusts
'....if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?'
John 11:40
Some say, I have tried everything, yet God does not seem to respond.
Like that popularly ciruculated picture of the man pushing very hard against an immovable rock, instead of looking for God, look at yourself, see how you are being transformed in subtle ways as you seek God, not withstanding the seemingly lack of response from God.
'...after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you..'
1 Peter 5:10
Yet God is responding in ways we do not see, because we are looking for things we want to see.
Learn to to be thankful, learn to love, for God is love and in lovingly expressing our belief, God will reside in us.
God Blesses
