#41 Visitations(5may2005)

oday is one of those rare days that I feel this weariness, as if a great cloud of oppression is encapsulating my very being, where my heart feels like the ripples of the unsettled waves.

'O My people, what have I done unto thee?

And wherein have I wearied thee?'

Testify against me'

Micah 6:3

In such times, the natural human reaction will be to either take things in our own hands and try to overcome it the way we understand or to be overwhelmed by it and sink into a repressed and depressed state of oblivion.

'Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip'

Hebrews 2:1

But God commands us to do it from His and not our way.

We are asked to put aside whatever holds our heart, will ourselves to reside in Him and let Him lead

'Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud....

let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us,

let us run....., looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith..'

Hebrews 12:1

Encounters with manifestations of the supernatural is something that most of us gladly will give a miss.

In my army days, I was rather privileged(on hindsight) to have a regular visitation of fallen angels(or in layman's term evil spirits).

Every night, for two weeks, I was 'literally' pressed by an unseen force on my upper deck bed in a room of 6 grown men.

Being the sole recipient of such unseen interests is not the desired material for boasting rights.

I was awake, I could feel the force pressing upon me, I couldn't utter a word no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't move at all.

Thankfully, I was a part-time believer then. I knew of God and Jesus Christ. I shouted through my heart to God to save me, as loud as I could muster the will to do.

After a brief struggle, the presence left me whenever I seek God.

'Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you'

James 4:7

The devil sure scooted but rest assured that he is always lurking round the corner, like a the proverbial lion, waiting to pounce upon you and for an opportunity to enter into the gates of your heart when sin provides him with the key.

'For we wrestle............against .......the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places

Ephesians 6:10-12

Today, such encounters are rare but do occur.

It happens when

- I let sin creep into my life and I start to move my focus from God

Rest assured that hindsight of experience does not make me less fearful, but experience helps me to repent of my follies and turn to God, the source of all comfort much quicker.

- When I am about to move on to an even deeper relationship with God.

When Christ died on the cross, the devil never expected that Christ's death was the prelude to His resurrection and the ultimate defeat for the prideful Satan, for his bondage upon all of us, death has been broken.

Similarly, when we are challenged by the devil's wiles, we know that we are on the right track with God, and we have overcome, for Jesus has already overcome the devil.

- When someone that God has placed in my path is about to walk over to God's kingdom

The sugar coated lies and deceit have fallen through and old Lucifer manifest his ugly traits to no avail

'Fear none of those things......the devil

He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death'

Revelation 2:11

Who should you truly fear???

'And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear Him(ie God) which is able to destroy both sould and body in hell'

Mathew 10:28

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom

'..God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him'

1 John 4:16

Yet, men rather let their natural senses of sight, sound, taste, smell ie their lusts lead them into sinful dalliances with the devil, when he comes visiting.

'..that spirit of antichrist, wherof you have heard that is should come, and even now is already in the world'

1 John 4:3

'..some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils....'

1 Timothy 4:1

How do you know that you could be in bed with the devil without even realizing it??

Is there love in your daily walk??

'There is no fear in love, but perfect love cast out fear, because fear hath torment'

1 John 4:18

Is there peace in your heart??

'And let the peace of God rule in your hearts.....'

Colossians 3:15

Can you 'hear' God??

'...It is a people who go asking in their hearts. And they do not know My ways'

Psalms 95:10

'..he that knoweth God heareth us, he that is not of God heareth not us'

1 John 4:5-6

God Blesses
