#17 What every woman wants(20n0v2004)

I am not sure how many of us watched this highly 'watchable' movie, starring Mel Gibson, I think.

I did not. So I am not sure who was the female lead nor do I have a clue as to the thrust of the story.



Like most, after almost 15 years of marriage, the strength and resilience of character of my wife, the supposedly 'weaker sex', in dealing ably with issues of life that come by our laps, still leaves me in awe and gratefulness.



It is true that Eve gave the apple to Adam, but how the fairer sex have more than made up for it in helping us 'supposedly Samsons' (at least in my case) overcome our many latent deficiencies.



Truly, what does us humans innately desire???



'The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it?

Often, we are not even sure of what we want.

Friends will have their say, pyschiatrists will have their day, the sanatorium can be the place along the way.



While it is oft an excuse

- given by many who do not want to believe in God

- or who believe outwardly but never really intended to obey

- or who are busy doing 'everything for' God except to seek God

Be forewarned, God is not seeking your understanding, self effort nor sacrifice, but He wants your trust and obedience



'Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord and whose hope the Lord is'

Jeremiah 17:7



'Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord, that walketh in His ways'

Psalm 128:1



When we learn to put aside our will, and do God's will always

When our heart longs for God, when we seek God with all our heart, mind and soul



We will experience in our daily lives, the fulfilment of God promises to all who believe and obey



'For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands;

Happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee,

.................Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children,

And peace upon Israel'

Psalm 128:2-6



The salvation Christ offers is not a reward for religious effort but a gift to all who put their trust in Him.



When was the last time that your heart felt strangely warmth??
