#42a Who is right ? (10may2005)

How do I know that I am right with God???
(10th May 2005)

All who believe in Christ and the Almighty God are commanded to go out to the world to preach the gospel of the good news and our salvation.

‘……He hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to them that are bound’
Isaiah 61:1

Yet, ever so often, the seemingly incongruous but damning twin roads of self-righteousness or confusion, will creep upon us leading us to believe that

- we ‘being right with God, should know what is right for Him and for everyone else unfortunate to cross our path.

Reality is our role whatever it may be, does not include that of general judge or critic

‘And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know’
1 Corinthians 8:3

or

- we get so caught up trying to understand the will of God by our own efforts(without asking or wanting to listen to Him) that we end up totally discouraged, disillusioned or in such a disorientated state that we are rich pickings for the false prophets, lurking round every nook and corner, waiting to enter and take control of our inner sanctums.

But, God says that His will is clearer than clarity

‘They are all plain to him that understandeth.
And right to them that find knowledge’
Proverbs 8:9

God asks

‘Why do you not understand My speech? ……Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do……’
John 8:43

How do we keep our sight of God from being tainted??

1. Are you seeking God always??

Simplistic as it may seems, but when was truly the last time that you pick up the Bible to read??

‘I love them that love Me;
And those that seek Me early shall find Me’
Proverbs 8:17

2. Is your heart truly with God??

Read you might, but was it with great desire or mere ritualistic motions

‘You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart’
Jeremiah 29:13

3. God and God only

All else must be put aside, reside in God and let Him lead you accordingly.

When troubles starts, do you look to God first for His guidance rather than to him for a your desired solution or worse, you place Him one side, and try to solve it your way

‘Receive My instruction, and not silver
And knowledge rather than choice gold’
Proverbs 8:10

4. Will you obey God??

When God prompts, will you respond

Will you ignore this urge placed in you to seek God and continue to let your senses lead you in dealing with the world.

‘..For blessed are they that keep My ways’
Proverbs 8:32

5. Obey without doubting

You heard God, but you just don’t think that it is rational. You decide that either you heard Him wrong or He is wrong

‘Counsel is Mine, and sound wisdom;
I am understanding; …..’
Proverbs 8:14

6. Humility, love and all the fruits of the Spirit is what God desires from us

Is your heart blinded by pride or fear or the lusty devil??

‘The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride, and arrogancy…’
Proverbs 8:13

7. Is God truly in-charge of your life

‘The Lord possessed me in the beginning of His way…..’
Proverbs 8:22

8. How do we pass the keys to our life to the Lord??

Like Daniel (of the lions fame). Be desirous of seeking God, be active in seeking God, be responsive as God leads.

Take the first step, do not worry about the next or next, next steps, for God will lead.

‘….he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before His God, as he did aforetime’
Daniel 6:10

To know God, to hear God right, to do what is right in God’s eyes

It is not based on human understanding, but beyond as the Holy Spirit takes the hands of our hearts and move us.

‘Therefore no prophecy of the Scriptures are of any private interpretation.
For the prophecy came not…..by the will of men, but …Holy men spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost’

2 Peter 1:20-21
But

Are are you willing, for the Lord is willing to take your hands, if you only would let Him

‘He who is of God, heareth God’s Words, ye therefore hear not, because ye are not of God’
John 8:47
