#26 Why not(5feb2005)

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen'
Hebrews 11:1

Its TOUGH being a believer.

Doesn't God understand that :

- often it is not that we want to deliberately
disobey Him

'..they have turned aside quickly out of the way which
I commanded them....'
Exodus 32:7

- but that it is really hard for many from our finite
human understanding to visualize an 'Invisible God'

- worse, to understand His sometimes seemingly
conflicting commands in His Word and in our
circumstances

- often, even if we are sure of His will, it seems to
go against common logic

- and really, how do we know we have got His
commandments right??

- and is He truly that awesome and will He deliver
as promised???

LOOK AT THE WORLD TODAY

Many shades of Christians, many schism amongst 'stout, self-righteous Christians in views and understanding of God's Word and will.

Even the completeness and content of the Bible is now
more stridently challenged by agnostics and so called
'new age modernists' and 'gayful liberals'

BY THE GRACE OF GOD,

Our faith is not premeditated on
knowledge, interpretation nor proof by men, but rather
it is upon a living and dynamic relationship with the
Sovereign God, through His Son Jesus Christ.

The Holy Spirit is our teacher.

God has saved us from ourselves in this present day
'Babel of conflicting, confusing and corrupt thoughts'

'The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge..'
Proverbs 1:7

Adam, the first man, beguiled by the devil, decided to
Be his own man by eating the apple of disobedience,
against the command of God

'For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof,
then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as
gods, knowing good and evil'
Genesis 3:5

Today, we the modern Adams and Eves are still
slithering along with the devil.

God says

'My son, attend to My words;
Incline thine ear unto my sayings'
Let them not depart from thine eyes
Keep them in the midst of thine heart'
Proverbs 3:20-21

Yet, just like our forefathers of yonder, we choose to
look everywhere except to God.

We choose to claim ignorance, confusion, human logic,
and even excuses of impracticality despite this
inexplicable desire in our hearts to response to the
will of God.

We look for proofs of God's Word rather than obey in
faith.

We hide behind facades of excuses to justify our
disobedience just like

Adam blamed Eve

'The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me
of the tree and I did eat'
Genesis 3:12

And Eve blamed the devil

'And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I
did eat'
Genesis 3:13

To fear God, we must believe and trust in His
omnipotence.

We must totally LET GO of our innate human desire to
question, to rebuke, to judge, to be self-righteous,
to be prideful and vengeful.

'But indeed O man, who are you to reply against God?
Shall the thing formed say unto Him that formed it.
Why hast thou made me thus??'
Romans 9:20

'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are
your ways My ways, saith the Lord'
Isaiah 55:8

In short, we must seek to be like the man that God
first made and intended us to be.

A Christlike man made in His image, but sadly, the man we are today is
the sinful man, closer to the prince of the world,
Satan.

God’s commands are clear

- show love and mercy to all with no preconditions

'let not mercy and truth forsake thee'
Proverbs 3:3

- let go and lean on God with no preconceived notions

'trust in the Lord with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine own understanding'
Proverbs 3:5

- rest our fears totally with God and no one or nothing else

'be not afraid of sudden fear. Neither of the
desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
For the Lord shall be thy confidence'
Proverbs 3:25-26

- give God glory no matter our circumstances

'in all thy ways acknowledge Him. And He shall
direct thy paths'
Proverbs 3:6

- give with a willing heart

'honour the Lord with thy substance. And with the firstfruits of all thine
increase
Proverbs 3:9

- do good, show compassion

'withhold not good from them to whom it is due
When it is in the power of thine hand to do it'
Proverbs 3:27

- judge not, scheme not, no matter the justification

'devise not evil against thy neighbour'
Proverbs 3:29

- be thankful for what we have, and what we are, and
worry not about what we are not

'envy thou not the oppressor. And choose none of his
ways'
Proverbs 3:31

TOUGH isn't it.

Often even when we try to adhere, we are not sure if
it is good enough for God or that we got it right.

Worry not, WHY NOT let go and let God lead us
for God will guide, teach and correct us

'My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord'
Proverbs 3:11

WHY NOT, will yourselves to focus on God, irregardless
of our circumstances, thoughts and conflicting innate
desires

'let us run.....looking unto Jesus'
Hebrew 12:1-2

For when we run the race,
- we do not run alone, for Jesus is author and the finisher of
our faith.

- we look not to the end, but to Jesus our Lord

'And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us...'
John 1:14

As we response, even in unsure steps, as long as are
heart is desirous of seeking God, as we stop
questioning, but instead follow

'Little by little God will drive them out from before
you..'
Hebrews 12:1-2

God Blesses
